The Wall Street valuation of Warren Buffett's Berkshire Hathaway reaches $1 trillion

On Wednesday, Berkshire Hathaway's market value exceeded $1 trillion, indicating the trust of investors in the company that Warren Buffett spent nearly six decades building.

Berkshire joined six other firms, mostly in the technology sector, with market caps over $1 trillion: Apple, Microsoft, Nvidia, Amazon.com, Facebook parent Meta Platforms, Google parent Alphabet, and Google.e 1

In the first half of the year, Berkshire's numerous insurance, energy, manufacturing, retail, and service companies made $22.8 billion in profit, a 26% increase over the same period the previous year.

Buffett has been in charge of Berkshire since 1965 and will turn 94 on August 30.

The increase in Berkshire's cash and equivalents holdings to $276.9 billion as of June 30th, primarily in US Treasury bills, can be attributed in large part to stock sales.

Since Buffett took over, Berkshire's shares had increased in value by more than 5,600,000%, reaching a $1 trillion valuation.
