On Monday, August 26, we shall commemorate Krishna Janmashtami. Hindus all throughout the world celebrate the significant Hindu event that commemorates the birth of the Hindu deity Krishna with great fervor and joy. The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) has declared some cities’ banks closed because of the event in its yearly list of bank holidays.

Every year at the beginning of the year, the Equity, Equity Derivative, and SLB segments publish a calendar of trading holidays along with other information. On the day of Krishna Janmashtami, trading on the Multi Commodity Exchange (MCX) will continue to be open throughout both the morning & evening sessions.
In the meantime, on Monday, banks will not open in the following states: Bengal, Bihar, Chhattisgarh, Jharkhand, Meghalaya, Himachal Pradesh, Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, Uttarakhand, Sikkim, Rajasthan, Jammu, and Srinagar.
