Income Tax Budget 2024 LIVE: Kisan Credit Card will be Launched in 5 states

Recently Income Tax Budget 2024 was presented, in which Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman made a big announcement for the Kisan Credit Card. Nirmala ji has said that Kisan Credit Card will be launched in 5 states. After presenting the new Budget for 2024-25, now Kisan Credit Card (KCC) facility will now be provided in 5 more states. Apart from this, Nirmala ji has said that the first priority of the government is to advance and develop the agriculture sector. Facilities will be provided to 1 crore farmers for natural farming.

In her Union Budget speech in Parliament, Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman said:- “Further, the issuance of Jan Samarth based Kisan Credit Cards will be enabled in 5 states.”

KCC was introduced in 1988 to be issued by banks equally to all farmers based on their holdings, the main reason for this was that farmers could easily buy agricultural inputs like seeds, fertilizers, and pesticides, and withdraw cash for themselves, etc.

Nirmala Sitharaman Said:- “15. Buoyed by the success of the pilot project, our government, in partnership with the states, will facilitate the implementation of the digital public infrastructure (DPI) in agriculture for coverage of farmers and their lands in 3 years.”

During this year, the FM said that the digital crop survey for Kharif using the DPI will be taken up in 400 districts. “The details of six crore farmers and their lands will be brought into the farmer and land registries,” she added.
